In preparing for the sexwithghosts shoot we created some new songs. Whereas Natasha and I already have a band called Snowflakes it doesn’t seem quite like a fit for the darker explorations of a horror movie. After all Snowflakes is a mostly peppy affair with songs about the environment, love and UFOs. So that’s how Wtch & Wzrd came to be. I wrote these darker songs and realized it’s a different band.
We just returned from the Long Island Blood & Babes Comic Con letting people know about sexwithghosts and having Natasha sign autographs and pose for pics. Afterward we found ourselves under a bridge in NY’s Central Park listening to buskers playing haunting classical music. It was the perfect location for an impromptu Wtch & Wzrd photo shoot.
Spending a bit of time today working on the script for sexwithghosts. It’s a micro-budget poltergeist horror movie starring my better half, Natasha Blasick, and written, directed and scored by yours truly. This is going to be a lean, mean little horror tale. Still, there must be words on the page in the form of a script. It’s all in my head. Major parts are in the computer. Seven songs are already recorded. But, until there’s a full script there won’t be a full movie.
There’s a goal of having at least part of it ready to screen at the Blood And Babes Comic Con in Long Island, NY Sept 12-14. Natasha and I will be there for three days of meeting new friends and Natasha signing autographs as us sharing the word about our movie.
And we’re off to the races. The poster may change over time. That’s how these things can go. But we’re thrilled to have a public face, so to speak, for sexwithghosts. And, we can’t wait to share the movie as soon as humanly, and spiritually, possible.
The 2nd song ready for our movie. Performed by Martin & Natasha as Wtch & Wzrd.
Freshly created theme song, sexwithghosts. It will appear in the main title of the movie. It features some fun spoken parts by Natasha. It was a lot of fun making this song.
Natasha and I will screen our upcoming horror movie at the Blood And Babes Comic Con in Long Island, NY Sept 12-14. We’re hard at work producing our poltergeist tale of girl vs naughty ghost. We’ve very excited to be producing our first full length feature film.
Natasha and I have faced the need to come up with a production company name. She blurted out a good one. We’re mulling it over. Once upon a time she improvised ‘stable like a table’. It was such a natural I’m trying to make it happen like ‘fetch’ in Mean Girls but with a better result. Since our oeuvre is going to lean torward horror for the foreseeable future, we’re playing with catchy, horror themed names. Ah, here’s a good one. Too long. Ah, here’s a better one. Dang, taken.
It was that rare full moon Friday the 13th, 2014 when we realized the need to create a production entity. The happiest Friday the 13th I can remember. We will still be batting around name ideas in search of one we really love, and is available, until the last moment when we need to commit.
Now, back to writing the second act of sexwithghosts.
The first synopsis for sexwithghosts is in the can…or on the page. Going through the index cards was a great way to inspire a synopsis. And writing the synopsis gave me lots of ideas for filling out the empty slots in the index card puzzle. There must certainly be a variety of synopses in the future of sexwithghosts. But it had to start somewhere. It came out to a little over 1,000 words. Next up is a shorter version, more like a three paragraph version to give a quick overview for those types not inclined to pay attention to over two pages.
